Functional training – for a strong and healthy body

There are new fitness trends every year. For a number of years “Functional training”, which has been popular for a long time with trainers and therapists, has also become increasingly popular on the market.

Is functional training the key for a strong, powerful body, the perfect figure and injury-free everyday life?
The answer is “yes”. In everyday life there are often situations which subject people to physical strain. For example, winter regularly demands unusual and unaccustomed activities: shovelling snow, preventing falls, walking long distances. Even everyday movements, such as carrying a case of water, picking up the laundry basket or filling shelves can cause strain. With functional training you train entire muscle strings, improve coordination of the muscles and thus achieve more strength and stability for the whole body.

How does FT work?
With functional training you train movements, not individual muscles. This means that muscles are not trained in isolation like they are in body-building, but rather as connected systems. The whole body is trained and strengthened.
The sensomotoric demands can be increased by integrating unstable training equipment such as balls or Ballkissen.

As always: regular training keeps the body fit for all situations, whether for work, leisure or high-performance sports. Don’t forget to that healthy nutrition and relaxation from time to time are also important to your health.
