Physiotherapeutic Work with TOGU Products in Animal Therapy
Physiotherapeutic Work with TOGU Products in Animal Therapy
In my daily work with horses and dogs, one aspect is always at the center of my approach: functional movement, body awareness, and sustainable stability. As a physiotherapist and osteopath, I do not work in a purely symptom oriented way, but focus on underlying causes. The goal is to restore physiological balance and support the body’s natural ability for self regulation.
It is precisely at this point that the products of TOGU Animal come into use.
Understanding Movement Instead of Simply Treating Symptoms
Many muscular problems do not arise from a lack of strength, but from insufficient coordination, reduced deep sensory perception, and impaired body awareness.
Whether after injury, during rehabilitation, in athletic training, or for preventive purposes, the body needs targeted stimuli to function correctly again.
TOGU products provide exactly these stimuli:
- activation of the deep stabilizing musculature
- improvement of balance and coordination
- enhancement of proprioception
- gentle yet effective training impulses
For me, it is essential that all devices are used sensibly, safely, and adapted to the individual animal.
Application in Equine Physiotherapy
In equine physiotherapy, I primarily use TOGU products in the following areas:
- trunk stability and core activation
- shoulder and pelvic integration
- coordination of forehand and hindquarters
- rebuilding after training breaks or injuries
All exercises are individually adapted and always embedded in a holistic therapeutic concept. The goal is not isolated training, but improved movement quality in daily life and under the rider.
Application in Canine Physiotherapy
TOGU products are also an integral part of my work in canine physiotherapy. They have proven particularly effective in cases of:
- neurological deficits
- orthopedic conditions
- postoperative rehabilitation
- athletically trained dogs
- senior dogs to maintain mobility
Thanks to their versatile application options, exercises can be designed from beginner to advanced levels without causing overload or incorrect strain.
Quality You Can Feel
What convinces me about TOGU is not only the quality of the materials, but above all the well thought out functionality. The products are robust, durable, and therapeutically meaningful. They support my work without replacing it – exactly as it should be.
For me, physiotherapy does not mean using as many devices as possible, but choosing the right tools at the right time. TOGU products have therefore become a fixed and reliable component of my therapeutic daily practice.
Development of the Horse Balance Pad for Equine Use
Based on my daily work with horses, the idea arose to develop a balance product together with TOGU that truly meets the biomechanical requirements of the equine body.
Until now, the market offered either rigid foam solutions with very limited movement dynamics or air filled systems that are far too unstable for the equine limb and overall body structure. From a physiotherapeutic perspective, neither option sufficiently meets the demands of controlled, safe, and effective training.
The jointly developed Horse Balance Pad represents a true innovation. Thanks to its special gel filling, it does not create uncontrolled instability, but rather a harmonious, finely dosed shifting movement. This allows targeted activation of the deep stabilizing musculature as well as the microfascial attachment and connective structures, without forcing the body into compensatory tension patterns.
Especially in horses, it is crucial to apply stimuli in a way that:
- improves balance without triggering protective tension
- effectively activates deep musculature
- supports the glide and function of fascial structures
- maintains a functional relationship between stability and mobility
The Horse Balance Pad enables exactly this type of work. It combines safety with freedom of movement and is suitable for rehabilitation, preventive training, and performance oriented use.
For me, this product is a clear example of how practical therapeutic experience and well considered product development can result in a tool that meaningfully enhances physiotherapeutic work and offers real added value for both horse and therapist.
