“Your life in balance – sensorimotor training in physiotherapy, sport and fitness”

Under this motto stood the International TOGU Day 2019. TOGU, the premium manufacturer of air-filled training and therapy equipment, invited to Frankfurt on Saturday, 18 May. Trainers, multipliers, dedicated trainers, and health, fitness, and physical therapists came to the event, which provides industry professionals with an ideal opportunity for exchange and networking in addition to continuing education.

The kick-off of the TOGU Day was made by Prof. dr. Christian Raschner, director of the Olympic Center Innsbruck: In his seminar he presented the importance of coordination and balance training. In addition, he presented the possibilities with the test and training app in connection with the new TOGU Challenge Disc 2.0. This year’s premieres were the workshops offered by physiotherapists with a focus on sensorimotor training. In the seminar of Michaela Kreitmair, the physiotherapist of the German national biathlon team, the focus was on leg axis and coordinative training. In the “Action & Release” course, Heike Oellerich and Miriam Wessels showed the right use of Faszio® balls and Theragym® tapes to loosen the fascia tissue and prepare for a busy, injury-free everyday life. Joachim Fleichaus presented the possibilities of sensorimotor training in physiotherapy. Sonja Hergert spoke about the interesting topic “relaxed neck – free head”.

Both physiotherapy instructors included the TOGU devices in their workshops and offered visitors the opportunity to intensively test TOGU’s exercise equipment. For example, the multifunctional balance trainer, the TOGU Jumper® Pro, was ready for testing.

After the lunch break, Alexander Jordan, the head of the Hesse Sports Education Center, explained in his presentation “Education in Balance” how coordination training not only promotes specific movement, but also brain development and physical well-being. The lecture series was concluded by Dirk Hübel, Director of the Health & Fitness Academy with his workshop on coordinative strength training: For 60 minutes, the graduate sports scientist explained how different muscle chains can be activated under coordinative aspects.

After the supporting program, the event came to a cozy end at the “Come Together” with interesting discussions and a delicious BBQ in the adjacent Lindner Hotel & Sports Academy.
